Golf Courses

The idea of Accidental Nature all came from a film I made for Springwatch this year. You can have a look at it here....

What is Accidental Nature?

Humans create a vast variety of landscape for their own purposes, take a golf course for example. The golf course is made to play golf on. But, as aproximately 60% of a golf course is unmanaged rough, golf courses create a place for wildlife to live. It's an accident, so I call it Accidental Nature.

There are countless other example of these happy accidents created by humans. From motorway verges covering thousands of miles, to a small puddle under the overflow toilet pipe in your back garden, which starlings use to drink from. Human beings create Accidental Nature everywhere, so we have a positive effect for wildlife. We can offer it a home, a place t breed and very often a source of food. This blogs seeks out stories reflecting these accidents and considers what they mean for nature.
